This exciting new project will explore the origins of the place names of the old parish of Cathcart, which stretched from Crosshill to Clarkston and from Crossmyloof to Kings Park.

You can participate in the research by exploring documents, maps, publications and online resources to help create a record of the place names (and street names) of this historic area.

You can contribute as much or as little as you are able and no previous experience is required, as training will be provided, free of charge.

We hope that this project will eventually lead to the publication of a guide to the place names.

To take part, send an email to info@langsidecommunityheritage.org, with your contact details. Please put “Place names” in the subject line.
